This year is the first year that computer graphics has been offered as an art class for our 8th grade students.  The kids are using Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 graphic arts program and developing their own personal portfolios of projects.  These projects have included personal business items such as business cards, letterheads and products, CD covers, package design projects, calendars and post cards, Christmas cards and independent projects.

Collage design and photo manipulation - Art III

Each student has their own computer to work at and have developed many outstanding art projects through the use of digital technologies of digital cameras, scanning and importing of images from various sources.  All students will be able to used this program and other digital programs for projects and assignments in the future.  Most of the students have surpassed all expectations of the class and have gone off and discovered many exciting projects that they have developed on their own.

This is a semester class and has given the student enough time to really get into the program and explore the numerous projects that can be developed within one program.  These are some examples of the student’s work that has been completed this semester.
