Centennial TeamMates

Join the Coach's Challenge

September 23, 2008

For the last 10 years, Centennial has been a part of the Seward County TeamMates Program.  This year we will be working on building our own program at both the elementary and secondary level.  TeamMates is a school based one-to-one mentoring program.  Tom and Nancy Osborne founded the TeamMates Mentoring Program in 1991 in an effort to provide support and encouragement to school aged youth.  The goal of the program is to see youth graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education.  To reach this goal, youth meet one hour per week with a caring adult who serves as a mentor.  Mentors are volunteers from the community who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the life of a young person.  Mentors spend time talking and listening, playing games, sharing hobbies…building a relationship.

The Centennial TeamMates Program has a goal of making 8 new matches this year, and has a long-term goal of having 20 matches.  However, we need mentor volunteers to meet these goals.  If you would like to make a difference in today’s youth, please contact our coordinator Marge Rhodes for more information at 534-2291.  You can also speak to an advisory board member:
